BSP-GSP Investiture Ceremony and Backyard Camping: Building Character, Friendship, and Service
August 1–2, 2026 — The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) successfully conducted an Investiture Ceremony and Backyard Camping on August 1–2, 2026, bringing together 70 young scouts composed of Kid Scouts, Twinklers, Kab Scouts, Star Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.

The two-day activity was designed to strengthen the scouts’ commitment to the ideals of scouting while providing them with opportunities to develop practical skills, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and camaraderie. The backyard camping experience also allowed the participants to enjoy the spirit of outdoor adventure in a safe and meaningful environment.

One of the major highlights of the event was the Investiture Ceremony, a significant occasion in which the scouts formally expressed their commitment to the principles and responsibilities of scouting. The ceremony reminded the young participants of the importance of being trustworthy, disciplined, helpful, respectful, and ready to serve others.

The scouts also participated in activities at the different scouting stations. These activities provided hands-on learning experiences appropriate to the different age groups. Through cooperation, participation, and teamwork, the scouts were able to practice important scouting skills while strengthening their friendships with one another.

Another memorable part of the activity was the campfire. The scouts gathered together in the evening to enjoy songs, presentations, fellowship, and other campfire activities. The warm and joyful atmosphere encouraged everyone to share, interact, and appreciate the true spirit of scouting. The campfire became a special moment of friendship and unity among the young scouts, leaders, and teachers.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the guidance and support of Carlito A. Catalo Jr., BSP School Coordinator; Irizh Alivio, GSP Coordinator; and Maria Ana N. Ogalisco, Principal I. Their dedication and leadership contributed greatly to providing the scouts with a safe, educational, and memorable experience.

The BSP-GSP Investiture Ceremony and Backyard Camping was more than just an overnight activity. It was an opportunity for the 70 participants to learn valuable lessons, strengthen their confidence, build friendships, and practice the values of scouting. Through the different activities, the young scouts were reminded that scouting is a journey of character-building, leadership, service, and friendship.

As the two-day activity came to an end on August 2, the scouts carried with them not only wonderful memories but also lessons and experiences that they can apply in their daily lives. The event truly reflected the spirit of scouting—learning by doing, serving with dedication, and growing together as responsible young citizens.

Planza Elementary School Celebrates Nutrition Month

School Deworming Activity
Planza Elementary School
July 13, 2026

On July 13, 2026, Planza Elementary School successfully conducted its School-Based Deworming Activity in partnership with the Rural Health Unit. The activity was headed by Midwife Alarcon, together with the dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Barangay Planza, under the supervision and support of Maria Ana N.Ogalisco School Principal of PES.

The deworming activity aimed to promote the health and well-being of learners by preventing and controlling soil-transmitted parasitic infections. Prior to the administration of the deworming tablets, the health personnel provided reminders on the importance of proper hygiene, handwashing, and taking the medicine safely. Teachers also assisted in organizing the learners and monitoring them throughout the activity.

A total of 127 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 were successfully dewormed out of 189 enrolled learners. The distribution per grade level was as follows:

Kindergarten: 13 out of 20 learners
Grade 1: 16 out of 35 learners
Grade 2: 13 out of 24 learners
Grade 3: 18 out of 23 learners
Grade 4: 24 out of 34 learners
Grade 5: 13 out of 17 learners
Grade 6: 30 out of 36 learners

The activity was conducted smoothly with the cooperation of the school personnel, parents, and health workers. Learners who participated were monitored after taking the deworming tablets, and no major adverse reactions were observed.

The successful implementation of the School-Based Deworming Activity reflects the strong partnership between Planza Elementary School and the local health sector in ensuring that learners remain healthy and ready to learn. The school extends its sincere appreciation to Midwife Alarcon, the Barangay Health Workers of Barangay Planza, and all teachers and stakeholders who contributed to the success of this health initiative.
