Tadong School Facilitate Academic CBSE Champions 2026
In the stream-wise categories -
Jyoti Kumari topped the Science stream with a spectacular 89.6%, while Himesh Thakuri led the Commerce stream with a brilliant 87.8%. Smita Chettri toped in Humanities with 86.6%. In the vocational subjects, Krishna Rai topped the Information Technology (IT) stream with 75.5%, and Pooja Darjee emerged as the topper in Food Production.
Himesh Thakuri was jointly awarded cash prize by Commerce teacher and Avishek Prasad awarded by Diki Doma Bhutia, Political Science PGT.
Similarly, Kursongmit Lepcha was honored in the Lepcha language by Miss Tenzing Dolma Lepcha (PGT Lepcha), Nima Sherpa in the Bhutia language by Mr Sherab Hozer Bhutia (PGT Bhutia). Furthermore, multi-talented stream topper Jyoti Kumari was highly honored for her exceptional performance in Hindi and English languages by Mrs Kesang Doma Bhutia (PGT Hindi) and Mrs Dhana Thapa (PGT English) respectively. These multi-faceted student champions were all formally honored with cash prizes, mementos, and merit certificates.
The ceremony also featured dedicated subject-specific awards sponsored by the faculty members. Dr. H. P. Subedi (PGT Biology) sponsored cash awards for the highest scorers in Biology across two sessions. Sita Chettri was honored for the 2024-25 session, while Kaden Tamang received the award for the 2025-26 session for scoring a phenomenal 93%.
The grand finale of the event was the presentation of the prestigious 15th Raghunath-Bhimeshori Dhakal Smreti Puraskar 2026. This legacy award, institutionalized in 2012 by Mr. Tribhuwan Dhakal (PGT Nepali) in memory of his late parents, is presented annually to the Nepali language topper. This year, the coveted award—comprising a cash prize of ₹10,000, a memento and a certificate was presented by the sponsor alongside Principal Dr Sangeeta Kharka to Kaden Tamang for his extraordinary score of 98 in Nepali.

Our School Shines at the 1st Sikkim Open International Taekwondo Championship 2026
Our students brought great pride to the school by participating in the 1st Sikkim Open International Taekwondo Championship 2026, held from 6th to 8th June 2026 at Paljor Stadium (Indoor Hall), Gangtok, Sikkim. A total of 14 students represented our school and displayed remarkable skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Report on Bagless Day Activities
The students of Class 8A of Government Senior Secondary School Tadong enthusiastically observed Bagless Day by participating in various games and sports activities organized under the guidance of PLB Ma’am, Pemala Ma’am, and Yankee Ma’am. The activities were conducted with the aim of promoting joyful learning, physical fitness, teamwork, and active participation among the students.
The students took part in different fun games and sports activities with great excitement and sportsmanship. The event created a lively and energetic atmosphere in the school and encouraged students to develop confidence, cooperation, and healthy interaction with one another.
As part of the Bagless Day programme, a painting competition on the theme “Climate Change” was also organized under the supervision of PLB Ma’am, Sachin Sir, and Pemala Ma’am. The students displayed their creativity and artistic talents through beautiful drawings and paintings highlighting the importance of protecting the environment and spreading awareness about climate change.

Government Senior Secondary School Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim observed World Environment Day in an enthusiastic manner starting with a Special Assembly on the theme “Inspired By Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” performed by Class XI Science students. They highlighted the current environmental situation being faced across the world. The main message of the skit was to make our planet greener, cleaner, and healthier.
The next activity was the school participating in taking the pledge of Mission LiFE for our Mother Nature. After that, students of the Eco Club, NSS, and NCC Cadets in collaboration started a cleanliness drive within the school premises and also cleaned the surrounding areas of the school and nearby flyover. They also maintained the Eco Garden where medicinal plants and vegetables have been planted.
The next major activity was the Plantation Drive under the slogan “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” where almost 20 saplings were planted along with students and their mothers/guardians within the school premises and in pots as well. In addition, Class VIII A participated in a Poster Making activity highlighting the theme of World Environment Day and the importance of protecting our Mother Nature for future generations.
Lastly, the school dedicated a few moments to appreciating Mother Nature and pledged to strive harder towards saving and protecting the environment for a better future.
