EFSA Holds Inaugural Meeting to Address Student Challenges

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, the Education Foundations Students’ Association (EFSA) held an inaugural meeting with course representatives of various courses of study under the Education Foundations departments to address student challenges. The event which aimed to raise awareness about students struggling academically and address related issues took place at A10 lecture hall.
The Education Foundations department contains different units: Education Islamic Studies, Education Arabic, Education English, Education Hausa, Guidance and Counseling, Education History, and Education French.
The meeting featured introductions, networking opportunities, and discussions on navigating campus challenges and personal development.
A 400-level student of Education English student, Usamat Sodiq Ayodeji noted that the meeting was a significant step towards collaborative leadership and addressing student challenges.
The EFSA president, Comrade Fatai Hammed Opeyemi, emphasized the importance of unity and promoting oneness among students from different units of the department. He announced an upcoming orientation for EFSA students to raise concerns and find solutions which would provide an opportunity for students to raise concerns and find solutions.
The president emphasized the importance of courage, activism, and building potential careers. He also addressed various topics, including the importance of course representatives, navigating challenges, and building potential careers. He emphasized that being a course representative is not an easy task and it requires courage and activism to succeed.
Hassan Teslim Alafara, a 100-level course representative of Education English, expressed that the meeting showed a sign of unity and progressive among the representatives offering different courses in the Education Foundations department.
The meeting was interactive, with many questions raised and addressed. It marked a new era of collaboration and student leadership in the EFSA department.

EFSA Set to Hold Orientation Program for Students

The Education Foundations Students' Association (EFSA) of the Department of Education Foundations under the Faculty of Education and Extension Services (FEES), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto is set to hold her an orientation program for newly admitted and returning students at ETF2 lecture hall on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Comrade Fatai Hammad Opeyemi, the association's president stated that the orientation will serve as great opportunity for the students of Education Foundations to be acquainted with the department and the entire institution.
He emphasized the importance of attending the program and encouraged students to be present so as not to miss the opportunity. “The orientation program will open floor for students to ask questions and get answers from experienced lecturers and professionals in the field,” president said.
The program will feature presentations by four invited speakers, which are: Dr. Y.S. Tsegem, Dr. B.B. Kwashabaha, Dr. Halima Sarkin Fada, and Mallam Misbau Jaafar Kaura. Also, several special guests and lecturers from the department will grace the event.
The event promises to be lively and kinetic, with social activities and opportunities for students to showcase their talents in poetry, journalism, comedy, dance, public speaking, and debating.
