SPORTS DAY 2026

We recently enjoyed our annual Sports Day which was full of exciting games , races and lots of fun.
Thanks to the boys and girls for organising the obstacle course. It was a huge success and one of the highlights of the day .

SCHOOL TOURS 2025-2026

The boys and girls had fantastic days out on their school tours this year.
The Infant Room enjoyed an exciting trip to Graune Pet Farm. The children had great fun in the soft play area before spending time with all the animals. They even got time for some go-karting, which was great fun.
The Senior Room had a wonderful day with their friends from Tavrane N.S. at Bay Sports in Athlone.The children took part in a variety of exciting water-based sports, including kayaking and many more outdoor challenges.A great day was had by everyone😀

AMBER FLAG 2025-2026

We are delighted to announce that the boys and girls of Tavneena N.S. have received the Amber Flag for the school year 2025-2026.
The Pieta Amber Flag initiative recognises the children’s efforts to create healthy, inclusive environments that support positive mental well-being.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, weather permitting, for our Family 5k & 10k run at Tavneena N.S. (F12R232).
Race starts @ 11:00 a.m.
Registration is available online using the above QR code, and cash registration will also be available on the day.
Entry fees :
€10 per person for 5k & 10k run
€20 per family
Parking will be available on-site .
Refreshments will be served in the school afterwards.
Everyone is welcome, so spread the word and bring along your family and friends for what promises to be a great community event.

CURIOUS MINDS AWARD

We are delighted to announce that the boys and girls Tavneena N.S. have achieved the Curious Minds Gold Award Research Ireland Curious Minds.
To earn this award, the children successfully completed activities across all areas of STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The children carried out investigations and experiments, carefully observed results, gathered and analysed data, drew conclusions, and worked scientifically every step of the way. They showed patience, creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and determination while exploring a wide range of exciting STEM challenges.

Technology played a major role throughout the programme, with the children confidently using a variety of digital tools and resources to support their learning, research, presentations, and investigations.

Achieving the Curious Minds Gold Award is no small task. It represents many hours of preparation, investigation, experimenting, learning, and discovery. Most importantly, it reflects the children’s enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to challenge themselves.

We are incredibly proud of every child for their commitment, effort, and achievement. They have truly embraced the spirit of STEM learning and should be celebrated for this fantastic success.
