On behalf of the National Association of Microbiology Students NAMS-UMYU Chapter, I extend my warmest wishes to all 300-Level Microbiology students embarking on their academic field trip.

Professor Sani Abdu Fari, a distinguished librarian, academic, and administrator at Umaru Musa Yar'adua University (UMYU), Katsina.
He is a renowned scholar in Library and Information Science with extensive experience in teaching, research, and university administration.
Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and currently, University Librarian.
A dedicated mentor and educationist, Professor Sani Abdu Fari continues to play a vital role in advancing academic excellence, research, and library services in Nigeria.

The National Association of Microbiology Students NAMS, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University NAMS-UMYU Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Jabir Hamisu Abdullahi successfully organized its Orientation Program on Thursday 11th June 2026.
The orientation was honored by the presence of distinguished academic and administrative personalities, including Professor Aminu Ado, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), who served as a visiting lecturer. He delivered a lecture titled “Welcome to the University, the citadel of knowledge, the bastion of learning, and the epicenter of intelligence.”
Also present was Dr.Bahauddeen Salisu Dandashire, the NAMS Coordinator, representing the Head of the Department of Microbiology. He delivered a presentation on “Cultivating the Habit of Academic Excellence from the Onset.”
In addition, Dr. Musa Kaware, Examination Officer, College of Health Sciences, UMYU, presented on “The Rules Governing the Conduct of Examinations in the University, including Malpractice and Punishments.” Furthermore, Malam Kabir Yahuza spoke on “The Importance of the Laboratory to a Microbiologist.” The Head of the Laboratory Unit, Malam Mannir Kabir, was also in attendance.
The program was further enriched by the presence of MSc students who are former NAMS EXCO members.
Their presence and contributions added great value to the program and reflect the strong collaboration between staff and students within the department.
These moments highlight the active participation, unity, and enthusiasm of both staff and students, making the orientation program a remarkable success.
