Happy New Year & all that jazz!!

I thought that as it's the new year and all, it's time for a reintroduction. I love , and Martha has set a challenge, so here we go...

👋 hi, I'm Kerry, mum of two ( M is 6, R is 3), art teacher, creative, crime thriller lover!

Back in 2018, my little girl was born, & this account was to showcase the creative things I did with her & a place to show my textile artwork.

I struggled adapting to the lack of everyday creativity, pre mat leave being a full time art teacher, to then having a bubba who didnt sleep, PND kicking in, and no creativity, it was a shocker of a change!!

So this account was made!!!

Over the last 6.5 yrs, I've had two babies, run mum & baby workshops, briefly left teaching, started working for our family business on the creative marketing side, tutored art to children, had work in exhibitions & shops and made lots of textile pieces for family & friends.

Sadly, along the way, I lost myself, my creativity, who I was, and my mental health was really impacted.

Then in the September of 2023, it was time for a change, I surrounded myself with people who I loved and trusted, opened up to others, started to follow my intuition, and with a few art lessons, my creativity came flowing back.

I'm so grateful for this journey, as tricky as it has made me stronger!!

Now I'm back to teaching part-time, which I absolutely love.
I'm being creative but accepted that it's hard to capture it all for blooming social media.
Making sure I take time for myself, I love breathwork, mediation, all things spiritual and crystals.
I can see the future creative plans I have, but I am trying to be patient as I can't do it all while my little ones are young.

2024... well, that was an interesting year!!!

The list can go. It's been a full-on year, and I've learnt and grown so much!

I'm really looking forward to 2025 and what it brings, hopefully lots of plants for the garden, hahaha!

Twixmas.... I'm not sure what day it is, but we needed a walk & some fresh air!!

One of our favourite places is and as always we had a fab but cold day!!!!

Fresh air, running free, feeding the ducks, playing on the climbing frame, being with a special friend, and taking millions of photos!

Plus, next year we plan to start work on our new garden, so I was able to get lots of evergreen inspiration!! Whoop whoop!!

Loved Glow!!

Last weekend we went as a whole family (19 of us) to see the lights at Wisley. It was fabulous!!

The children loved it, seeing the magical lights and running free. I loved seeing the garden in a totally different way!!

Fast forward to today, and I think the house will be blown away!!

Poppies for Remembrance Day | 11/11

There’s something truly special about creating poppy artwork for Remembrance Day. I made this with my little one when she was just 1.5 years old. We used a potato to print the poppies and added handprints for a personal touch. These creations have been treasured ever since.

Today, the children at school observed a minute of silence to honour those who gave their lives in the many wars. Later, they attended a church service, and the little ones proudly held their poppy paintings—just like the ones I made with M. It brought back such special memories.
