Noun Phrase:
A group of words behaving as a noun is called a noun phrase.
e.g. an emotional story, the fantastic shoemaker, pleasant weather...
Note 1: A noun phrase is incomplete without a head noun or principal noun.
In the above examples, story, shoemaker and weather are head nouns.
Note 2: Some times a noun phrase contains other nouns preceding the principal noun, in this case they function as adjectives not nouns.
For example
I am reading the Urdu literature books nowadays.
In this example, Urdu and literature function as adjectives, specifying books.
