The Department of Commerce, successfully organised the five-day Certificate Course “Commerce 360°: Analytics, AI & Digital Skills” from 10.08.2026 to 14.08.2026 in the Computer Laboratories. The programme aimed to enhance students’ practical knowledge of emerging digital technologies and industry-relevant skills.

A total of 234 students from B.Com Batch-I, Batch-II, B.Com PA and B.Com CS benefited from the programme. The training provided hands-on exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Artificial Intelligence tools, Digital Marketing, SEO, Meta Ads, Social Media Marketing, WordPress, Canva, Email Marketing and Content Creation. Students actively participated in practical sessions and developed skills in data analytics, digital communication, creative content development and technology-based business applications.

“Startup Mindset: Turning Problems into Business Opportunities”

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of JP College of Arts and Science (Autonomous) organised a seminar on “Startup Mindset: Turning Problems into Business Opportunities” on 14 August 2026 at 11:15 a.m. at Peter Hall.

Mr. P. Ragul Kumar, Managing Director, RK Textile World & RK Fashion, Puliyankudi, was the Chief Guest and Resource Person. He shared practical insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, opportunity identification and transforming real-life problems into viable business ideas. 80 students participated and benefited from various departments in JPCAS.

ICT Skill Development Programme

The Department of Commerce (CS & CA), organized an ICT Skill Development Programme on 05.08.2026 at Lab 5. The session on "Excel & Claude AI: Future Skills for Commerce Students" was handled by Dr. Ed. Priyadharshini. The resource person explained the practical use of Excel and Claude AI in academics and business.
