​🥢 Here’s what made up our table:
​Mulhoe (물회): Refreshing cold raw fish soup with an icy, tangy-spicy slush broth.
​Fresh Hoe (회): Perfectly sliced sashimi served alongside savory pickled vegetables.
​Grilled Whole Fish: Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside.
​Doenjang-jjigae (된장찌개): A piping-hot soybean paste stew packed with tofu and mushrooms.
​Bossam (보쌈): Tender boiled pork belly slices paired with salted shrimp.
​Banchan (반찬): Rolled omelet, cooked shellfish, boiled peanuts, octopus slices, fresh kimchi, crab legs, and scallion pancake!

Exploring the vibrant local market in Tongyeong! 🐟🦀 Located just a short walk from Samdo Sugun Tongjeyeong (통제영), this place is an absolute seafood heaven overflowing with live fish, fresh shellfish, dried seafood, and tasty local side dishes (banchan). And of course, you can't leave without picking up some famous Tongyeong honey bread (kkulppang)! 🍯🍞 Truly one of the liveliest market experiences in South Korea! 🇰🇷✨

While waiting for the show in Tongyeong, we decided to explore the local market~just a few minutes' walk from Samdo Sugun Tongyangeong (통제영)! 🐟🦑 It’s such an incredible place to experience local food culture, with everything from live, fresh-caught seafood to delicious cooked dishes and street snacks. It is one of the liveliest fresh fish markets I’ve seen in South Korea! 🇰🇷✨

Saw a huge line for these Korean honey bread treats—kkul-ppang (꿀빵), which literally translates to "honey bread" (kkul meaning honey, and ppang meaning bread)—and naturally, curiosity won! 🍯🍩 Glazed with sweet syrup, topped with sesame seeds, and filled with a rich sweet filling, they were worth every single minute in line! 🤤✨

​When centuries-old naval history meets modern media art, the result is pure magic! We had an incredible evening watching the projection mapping show "Tongjeyeong: An Era of Prosperity, An Age of Light" right on the wooden hall of Sebyeonggwan (세병관) in Tongyeong.
​From glowing warriors in battle formation and electric blue waves to traditional dancers illuminated against the historic pillars, this performance brings Korea's cultural heritage to life in the most breathtaking way.
