The nation honors National Artist Lucio San Pedro on his 113th Birth Anniversary.

Lucio San Pedro was a composer, conductor, and educator who captured the essence of Filipino cultural heritage in his musical creations. Being a relative of the famous "Botong" Francisco, San Pedro cultivated a varied portfolio that spanned numerous genres, including band music, concertos for violin and orchestra, choral works, cantatas, chamber music, and pieces for violin and piano, along with solo vocal compositions.

He took on the role of conductor for several esteemed music groups, such as the Peng Kong Grand Mason Concert Band, the San Pedro Band of Angono (previously directed by his father), and the Banda Angono Numero Uno. Through his steadfast dedication to these community bands, he made significant strides in enriching civic culture within Filipino society and opened doors for young Filipinos to display their artistic abilities.
