Re-Sitting For O'Level Math Exam?

Many people re-sit for O'Level Mathematics annually. From my experience helping and guiding students to prepare for their exams, I have identified gaps that result in many failing to pass or getting low grades. I have therefore put together a summary of tips here to help you put 'Satan' behind your back😃 (once and for all🤣🤣😜), and perhaps help you enjoy the journey:
1.Start Early
Start reading and studying before you even register for the exam. As the saying goes, we prepare for war in times of peace. Assign sufficient hours each week to read, study and practice solving problems.
2. Study Materials
Build a collection of good and relevant study materials. For instance, get good Text Books, Class Notes, Exam Past Papers and a copy of a topical Thinking Process.
3. Join A Support Group
A support group helps augment your resolve for the journey ahead and serves as a platform for data exchange. Ensure to involve current pupils in your group for their energy and freshness of mind.
4. Personal Tutor
Invest in a personal tutor. Ensure that you vet your tutor to ascertain their skills and credentials. I understand that mathematics can be a little intimidating; That is why I am encouraging you to find a supportive tutor (like yours truly 😜😁) to tutor you and help you build your confidence.
5. It Is Not About Solving!
I caution my students against jumping into problem-solving too early before assimilating the underlying mathematical principles. Remember that the exam is not designed to test your 'Solving' ability. On the contrary, it is aimed at testing your understanding of underlying mathematical principles.
6. Practice, Practice, Practice!
After assimilating the principles, thou shalt practice, practice and practice! As they say, practice makes perfect, doesn't it?
