*Earth Day Celebrations*

At St. Marcel Academy, we marked Earth Day through a variety of meaningful activities.

Students engaged in thoughtful reflections on how they have been caring for the environment and identified ways they can improve. They also created crafts using natural materials and participated in other enjoyable, hands-on experiences that deepened their appreciation for nature.

These activities reminded us all of our shared responsibility to protect the Earth—the only planet that sustains life—and to take conscious steps toward a more sustainable future.

Day 8–9: Our Last Adventure in Singapore!

"This was our last day… and we didn’t know it would be one of the coolest!

We started by visiting the city planning centre. At first, we didn’t really know what to expect… but wow—it was amazing! We learned how Singapore plans its future: buildings, roads, and even whole neighborhoods. It felt like looking into the future!

Then we went to Changi Airport… and we were all confused—“Why are we going to the airport so early?”
But it’s not just an airport… it’s like a mini city! There are shops, gardens, play areas—and we saw the incredible Jewel Rain Vortex , the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. It was magical!

After that, we visited Merlion Park, the symbol of Singapore. On the way, we even saw otters swimming in the city—so surprising and fun!

We did some quick shopping in Chinatown and Kampong Glam (Malay village), and enjoyed a delicious meal at Cappadocia, tasting Turkish food together.

We also noticed how busy the city was, with people from all over the world doing business—it made us understand how international Singapore is.

Then it was time to go back to the hotel… and soon after, head to the airport again—this time for real
We passed again through Jewel before starting our journey back home.

During our stop in Addis Ababa, we had breakfast while waiting for our next flight.

The return trip felt much shorter… maybe because we were excited to go home and share all our stories!

Home sweet home—back to Lubumbashi, with unforgettable memories!"

For lunch, we went to Aston Restaurant, where we enjoyed a well-deserved meal and took time to relax after a morning full of learning.

Another day full of discovery, creativity, and inspiration!"

"We had a long night because we had to do our own laundry — it was a new experience for many of us!

The next morning was special because it was Easter we all went to church , a very important celebration. We also learned about the different religions in Singapore, where Christianity is the second most practiced religion.

After church, we went shopping at Bugis Street and had lunch together.

Then we visited the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at the National University of Singapore. We also had a short campus tour by bus and learned about Southeast Asian biodiversity, research, conservation, and education.

Later, we had a meal at a seafood restaurant, followed by a short visit to Clarke Quay.

After such a full and exciting day, we returned to the hotel feeling tired but happy.
