📡 Radio Music is back.

Tom Whitwell Tom Whitwell returns to Housel Bay on the Lizard Peninsula for another residency tuning into the frequencies of everything and everyone around us.

Housel Bay is where Marconi stayed while carrying out the wireless experiments that made broadcast history. A century later, we’re using the same air to make music.

Five days working with shortwave and AM radio, WebSDR streams, modular synths, found broadcasts and signals from radio telescopes, using radio not just as a sound source but as a method for listening, composing and making together.

No technical knowledge needed. Just curiosity and whatever you already use to make music.

All meals included, with evening dinners at the Housel Bay Hotel restaurant.

Wyl Menmuir returns to Dyski with a built around his new book The Spirit of Stone, the final part of his trilogy on our relationship with place. After the sea and the woods, this one journeys into the granite landscapes of West Penwith, quoits, menhirs, fogous and ancient monuments, all within easy reach of a private woodland base.

Five days moving between the page and the landscape. Write near these places, about them, or simply alongside them, following Wyl’s instinct that close attention to a place is one of the most useful things a writer can do.

Five nights accommodation and all meals included.
Open to writers at any stage, in any form. Fiction, non fiction, poetry, or something harder to name. Perfect for anyone drawn to nature and landscape writing, and anyone who has ever stood in front of something ancient, or vast, or quietly ordinary, and felt the pull of it.

Composing with Tape returns with this September.

This is a week working with reel to reel machines, looking at recording, splicing and looping, alongside more experimental approaches such as tape delay and physical manipulation.

What tends to happen over the week is a shift in how people relate to sound. Working directly with tape slows things down. It becomes more physical, more immediate, and often less predictable, in a good way.

The group is small, and the structure is simple. Time to work, and time to share.

There are two fully funded places available for this residency, intended to support those who may need financial assistance to attend.

This album was created during the .co Sound Maps residency at , Toronto Island, from 2–6 March 2026. led by

A simple computer script generated graphic scores, track names, and coded instructions. Participants interpreted these scores freely, responding to the island environment. Sound sources include the Workshop System (a portable modular synthesiser) and the island’s diverse sonic environment.

The album is now available on Bandcamp. Join us for a live listening party on Wednesday 15 April at 9pm GMT / 4pm EDT.

It is available as a pay-what-you-can download, with all contributions helping towards funding a free place on a future DYSKI residency.
