Some activities that took place at St. Michael’s school for Truth and Reconciliation Day: Grade 2F talked about how "A Treaty is a promise". We decided that even though promises get broken, we can repair things by saying sorry, learning lessons, listening, and sharing things.
Grade 7F and 8E participated in the Orange Shirt Day Walk and gathering at City Centre Park.

For the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day, St Michael’s learned a song called “Side by Side”. Created by Wilbur Sargunaraj, Falynn Baptiste and featuring traditional drumming by Elmer Tootoosis, this song models respectful ways to incorporate Indigenous language and music learning into Saskatchewan classrooms.
Thanks to the Saskatchewan Music Educator’s Association for funding Wilbur’s video project! We loved learning it!!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

We celebrated Rainbow day today! Our school's theme, Rooted in Faith and Grounded in Love, reminds us that we are all part of God’s light. Just like light forms a rainbow, our unique classroom colors show that we don't have to be the same to belong together in unity and joy. Stay grounded in His love, care for one another, and stand strong as a vital part of God's big picture.
