🦃🍂 THANKFUL FOR OUR COUGAR FAMILY! 🐾💛

Today at Columbia School, we took a little time out of our busy PD Day to come together, share a delicious Thanksgiving lunch, enjoy some laughs, and connect as a Cougar family!

A HUGE thank you to B’s Knees Catering 🐝 for preparing an absolutely wonderful turkey dinner with all the fixings! Your hard work and delicious food made our gathering extra special! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing Cougar staff and everything they do each day to make Columbia School such a special place. Sometimes the best moments are simply sitting around a table, sharing stories, building relationships, and enjoying each other’s company.

🍁 Great Food. Great People. Great Connections.

From our Cougar family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂

🍎 Happy World Teachers’ Day! 📚💙

Today, we celebrate the incredible teachers who make Columbia School such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Every day, our teachers bring energy, patience, creativity, and care into their classrooms. They challenge students to do their best, celebrate their successes, support them through challenges, and create opportunities for every student to shine.

Teaching is so much more than lessons and curriculum — it’s about relationships, encouragement, and making a difference one student at a time.

To our amazing Columbia School teachers: THANK YOU for everything you do for our students, families, and school community. We are incredibly fortunate to have you on Team Columbia! 🐾💙

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎🌎

In Honour of Ken Krawetz

Today, Columbia School joins others across Saskatchewan and Good Spirit School Division in mourning the passing of Ken Krawetz, former MLA, Deputy Premier, educator, school board trustee and dedicated public servant. His many years of service to education, his community and the Province of Saskatchewan leave a lasting legacy.

Following the direction of the Province of Saskatchewan, our flags at Columbia School will be lowered to half-mast in honour and remembrance of Mr. Ken Krawetz.

Ken was also the father of our Principal, Mr. Bryce Krawetz. On behalf of the entire Columbia School community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Bryce, his family, and all those who knew and loved Ken.

Our thoughts are with the Krawetz family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Mr. Ken Krawetz. Your commitment to education, community and service to Saskatchewan will be remembered. 🕊️

🧡 EVERY CHILD MATTERS | Orange Shirt Day 🧡
Columbia School was proud to come together in recognition of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Throughout our school, students and staff wore orange as we continued to learn, listen, reflect, and have important conversations about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools. From classroom activities and stories to learning together as a school community, our Cougars showed that Every Child Matters.
Our Grade 7 & 8 students also had the opportunity to participate in the learning events at Yorkton Tribal Council (YTC), walking alongside many others from our community in a meaningful experience of remembrance, learning, and reconciliation.
We are grateful for the opportunities provided to our students to listen, learn, and grow together. 🧡
Every Child Matters — today, tomorrow, and every day.
