75th Anniversary of YK1

On October 8, 2014, YK1 celebrated a milestone in education as we celebrated our 75th Anniversary at Ecole Sir John Franklin School.The event included several school displays, draws, student artwork, historical photographs of YK1's rich history as well as music and entertainment from some of Yellowknife's finest up-and-coming performers.
An exhibit housing YK1's archival displays can be seen until November at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.

Check out our website to download a free copy of Ryan Silke's historical "A History of Public Schooling" in commemoration of YK1's 75th Anniversary. Copies are also available at YK1 District Office. Don't forget-- an archival exhibit from YK1's rich past is currently on display at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre until November.

It's finally here! Check out the YK1 75th Anniversary display now up at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC).

You can find it in the community display area. Turn left after coming in the door and it is on the right hand side. It will be on display until November.
