Dechinta is hiring for the role of Regional Outreach Coordinator for our programming in Rankin Inlet, NU.
Position is part time, located in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut and a starting rate of $41.45 per hour for 15-20 hours a week.
This position involves community outreach, planning and delivering of events and workshops, and working alongside Elders and knowledge holders.

Dechinta Centre is hiring for the role of Student Admissions Coordinator. This position will support students success from recruitment, through application and program arrival. This role will work with the communications coordinator to support internal program evaluation. The ideal candidate for this position has excellent administrative skills, attention to detail and experience supporting individuals navigate complex administrative systems.
This is a permanent full time position and open to remote work within Canada, though there is a preference for those living in Northern communities. Pay scale between 60k-80k per year for 37.5 hours per week, depending on experience. This position includes paid vacation, an RRSP matching and a competitive benefits package.

Dechinta is excited to announce our fall Inuvik Hide Camp! Students will receive two course credits, INLB 210 and 220, during the duration of this course.
Students will work with hide tanning teachers Delaney and Montana Prysnuk (Vuntut Gwich’in) and instructors to explore and deepen their knowledge on Indigenous Knowledge Systems, creative practices, and self-determination. The courses will focus on the importance of traditional practices as pathways to strengthen connections to the land, animals, plants, waters and communities.
You do not have to be a student to apply!
We will be prioritizing students from Inuvik and the Beaufort Delta region for participation in these courses.
Childcare and meals will be provided. Tuition bursaries are available.

We are excited to announce that we are continuing our Kaska Dena Stewarship Certificate Program this year! It is a five course program, with courses running from Fall 2026 to Spring 2027. The courses cover Kaska self-determination relationality, language, on-the-land skills and more!
Students are expected to take all five courses offered. Kaska Citizens wishing to take without credit are welcome to apply.

This fall Dechinta and Kwanlin Dün First Nation is excited to announce the return of our programming with Kwanlin Dün First Nation! Attendees will learn on the land with local Elders, community members, and fellow students about Kwanlin Dün First Nation's culture, history, and politics. There is post-secondary funding available for KDFN Citizens. Childcare and onsite accommodations are provided.
Course period: October 19th-30th 2026.
