Weledeh Catholic School

Yesterday we had a great opportunity to have the Laurier Women's Basketball Team share their passion for basketball to Weledeh's Middle School students. For many on the Laurier Women's Basketball team it is their first time in Yellowknife as they compete in this weekend's North of 60 Classic Tournament being held in the Ecole St. Patrick High School Gym.

We want to say a big MASHI CHO to all the players on Women's Basketball, Coach Megan, Coach Nikki and Coach Aycha for their time spent with our kids. Wishing them success in this weekend's tournament and hope you enjoy your time in our beautiful City of Yellowknife.

More Photos to come.

Last week some of our grade 4 and 5 Weledeh Wolves participated in the Squash tournament at the Racquet Club. It was a great day to meet students from other schools who shared our interest in Squash and see the good sportsmanship the teams showed. Go Wolves Go.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day 🧡

Yesterday, our school community came together for an Orange Shirt Day liturgy and Healing Walk. We took time to remember the children who never returned home, honour Survivors, and reflect on the importance of truth, healing, and reconciliation. Students also placed an offering at the former Akaitcho Hall site.

As we walked together, we carried hope for a future where every child feels safe, valued, and loved.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

Mrs O’Neill’s Kindergarten class reflected on truth and reconciliation by making bracelets / offerings. It is an important reminder that this is always ongoing! We also spent our afternoon appreciating and enjoying the land.
