We had a very successful Fall harvest this year! Our students enjoyed mashing potatoes, pickling beets, and cooking vegetable soup. They also used our farm-fresh eggs for breakfast wraps with a side of hash browns cooked at the Range Lake North School fire pit. Yesterday, students worked at cleaning up the garden boxes and taking soil samples, all in preparation for next year’s garden. Big Thanks to Ecology North for helping us with our garden program again this year! 👍🥔🥚🥬🥕🧅🥦

We are so lucky to have the clients and staff from helping us out with maintenance of our chicken coop and gardens this summer! Here are Kyle and Bertha collecting the eggs and watering the gardens. The chickens and turkeys are always happy to see RLN alumni, Nadia and Seth, when they arrive with food and fresh water. Yesterday we received our huge order of chicken feed and supplies from Benoit’s Farms in Hay River. It was a daunting task to unload it all, but thankfully our amazing Yellowknife community came together to help us get it done! Thank you to Stu Impett for sending in the big machinery, and Taylor for moving the load to our storage shed. Thanks to our Range Lake North School students, staff and parents, for taking time out of their Saturday afternoon to lend a helping hand. We could not have done it without you! 👍🐣🐓🦃

LOOKING FOR anyone with a skid steer who’d be willing to donate an hour of their time tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon around 1pm? Range Lake North School is expecting a large delivery of 150 bags of chicken feed from Hay River, and we could use a helping hand with unloading.
