Welcome to Wolfville Street Party returns on Labour Day Continuing the tradition of welcoming new residents and helping everyone feel like they belong, Main Street will be shut down from Elm to Gaspereau on Monday, September 7 from 1 - 4pm for our annual Welcome to Wolfville Street Party.

Wolfville has an immediate opportunity for Afterschool Program Instructor(s) who are available on Monday, Wednesday, and/or Friday to join the team. The successful candidates will be responsible for directly delivering Afterschool recreation programs that run throughout the school year. =ld be an asset.

The position requires between 3 and 15 hours per week (1-5 days) depending on how many afterschool program days you are able to lead. The hours of work will be from 2:00pm-5:00pm with programs running from Monday to Friday.

An Art Hive is a supported Open Studio where people of all ages and abilities can gather and make art. Facilitators will be on hand to offer ideas and support for art making as needed. Participants may also choose their own art project or bring one to work on. All art making abilities are welcome and supplies are available.

When: Thursdays, September 24 to November 26, 2026

Time: 2:00 to 4:30 pm

Where: St. Francis Church Hall, 118 Main Street, Wolfville

Cost: No Charge.

Program: An open studio will be held every week. Depending on interest there may be workshops or short programs, on a particular topic (e.g., puppets) or for particular age groups.

Facilitators: Monique Silver, artist and art therapy student and Mary Norton is an adult educator, art therapist and expressive arts facilitator. Other volunteers are welcome to participate.

Pre-Registration is required. Those under 12 years of age should have a parent or guardian attend with them.

Watercolour Painting is back again this fall! We are once again excited to offer two different beginner level classes.

Beginner Level One: In this introduction to watercolour painting, instructor Neil Groeneveld will teach the fundamentals of watercolour technique, practicing basic skills such as flat washes, graded washes, wet into wet, wet on dry paper, and dry brushing. Course content will be suitable for beginners with little or no previous experience. The group will work in a variety of styles and genre, structured for success!

Beginner Level Two: In this comprehensive workshop series with instructor Neil Groeneveld, participants will continue practicing the fundamentals of watercolour technique, such as flat washes, graded washes, wet into wet, wet on dry paper, and dry brushing. Course content will be suitable for beginners with some previous experience. The group will work in a variety of styles and genre, structured for success!

High quality materials will be provided for this class, although participants may bring their own if they prefer

This program is for ages 18+. All experience and skill levels welcome!

Safer streets include crosswalks!

Through the Town we have been working on crosswalk Improvements:
• Flashing solar beacon crosswalk lights will be installed at three new Main Street crosswalks: Stirling Ave, Oak Ave, and Woodman Road.
• Curb cuts and tactile plates to make these crosswalks accessible are coming soon.
• 2 new crosswalks have been painted on Skyway at the Woodland Trail entrances.
• Crosswalk signage will be installed at Huron Ave where a crosswalk has been painted.
• Flex post signs have been installed in the Harvest Moon Trail crossings at Elm Ave and Harbourside Drive to improve visibility of these busy crossings.

Expect delays on West Main starting on August 24 as the Raw Water Transmission Line Extension project progresses between Cherry Lane and Wickwire.

Traffic control will be in place.

Road painting plays a big role in our Safer Streets Initiative so we're starting to work on repainting of all existing lines (ex. Main St, Gaspereau, etc) as well as new areas through the Safer Streets Initiative, including the King and Orchard intersection, Stirling Ave, Skyway/Pleasant St, Maple Ave, Sherwood Dr, Reservoir Park parking lot and intersection, Grandview Dr and University Ave.

Grandview Drive will have two dashed white lines painted on either side of the street, narrowing the driving lane to slow vehicular traffic, while creating a “flex zone” for active transportation users in the absence of a sidewalk.

University Ave will see new angled parking stalls where the existing on-street parking is located, with a painted active transportation lane on the west side of the street.

Combined Yang style Tai Chi with Qigong classes happening weekly this Fall at the Wolfville Legion (310 Main St). Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30pm September 22nd - November 24th.

Drop-ins are welcome at the cost of $12 per session and are paid with cash at the program start. Drop-ins are only available for the first 3 weeks (ending Oct 6).

Tai chi is one of the most effective exercises for the health of the mind and the body. It cultivates the balance of harmony and health within yourself. Qigong harnesses the breath, movement and intention to create a healthy balance in the body.
