For more than 20 years, the Winnipegosis Public Library has proudly offered its annual Avid Reader Program to students in Grades K–4 attending Winnipegosis Elementary School. This longstanding literacy initiative encourages young readers to develop and nurture a lifelong love of books, reading, and learning while supporting the school's commitment to literacy and educational success.
When I joined Parkland Regional Library in 2013, I enhanced the prize packages by adding age-appropriate activity books, craft and make-and-do projects, including coloring books to complement the traditional book, bookmark, and pencil package. There is no financial funding for this annual program. Based on my receipts, the Avid Reader 2026 Program was $293.08. This is my personal commitment and contribution to fostering a love of reading, supporting children's growth, and investing in literacy within the community. This may be the final Avid Reader Program offered with the potential closure of Winnipegosis Public Library. It has been a pleasure to work with Winnipegosis Elementary School. With that said, the last two items arrived in the mail today and the two boxes of Avid Reader Prizes has been delivered. :-)

It’s grad season! Our setup is in full swing today. Come on out tomorrow morning at 11 AM, to support your grads.
A bear has just been spotted across the street from WES (did not show any aggression and was not near our students). Our students have all been brought inside for the remainder of recess.
Please be cautious when walking in town.
