We feel this post. Humans have only discovered screen time in a blink of their evolutionary existence on this Earth. In no way have our brains adapted to use modern technology as a means of survival insofar as we learn to swim, fish, farm, gather, nurture and build. This is how we are hard-wired and students can develop these skills best through play-based learning and creating with their hands not their screens. Then through careful exposure, older children can find benefits learning to use technology as a tool to enhance these basic skills.

Several countries like Denmark are removing technology from elementary grades because of the damage.

Founder's message:

A lot of people have started following Skystone recently, so I thought I’d introduce myself....

I’ve spent years inside the education system — learning, teaching science, coaching sports, instructing teachers, planning curriculum, building student programs. The whole thing.

But the truth is - I was never meant to teach.

I spent eight years in university and sort of… fell into education. Science education to be exact.

When I finally graduated at 28, I basically said “F it” and took a science teaching job so I could travel and start making money.

And you know what?

I was actually pretty damn good at it. Hell I was getting promotions. But it was never quite right.

IHell I was late for work every day! But I show up because I have a duty to my students, teachers and to the North.

Turns out it’s pretty common... Only about 1 in 5 people rruly and innately love what they do for a living.

So WTF happened?

Well I know what happened to me.

Fear.

I didn’t have the guidance or confidence to follow the things that actually energized me.

Creative technology.
Music.
Film.
Photography.
Design.

The things that make you lose track of time because you’re completely absorbed in them.

It took me 24 years after graduating to realize what truly drives me.

So that’s why I started building Skystone Education and the ARLO program.

ARLO is an intelligent companion designed to help students:
• discover who they really are
• understand the world more clearly
• recognize their unique strengths
• and build a life that actually makes them happy

Every person deserves the chance to figure that out before they spend decades drifting around.

The paths ARLO explores are as unique as the DNA you were born with.

That’s what I’m building.

And if it helps even a handful of people discover their direction earlier than I did — it will be worth it.
