On January 24, 2023, the Department held the 2022-23 Chemistry Awards: An Evening of Excellence. Following a fantastic dinner, Professor David Herbert gave a presentation titled, "Sustainability as a Design Principle in Modern Synthetic Chemistry" and finally the award nomination ceremony where undergraduate and graduate students were named. Congratulations to all those nominated and keep up the great work!

The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time probationary position at the rank of Instructor I with a focus on Inorganic Chemistry and Indigenization, commencing July 1, 2022 or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and pedagogical development. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience and Ph.D (preferred) or M.Sc. or other distinguishing attributes in Inorganic Chemistry and Indigenization. Duties may include undergraduate teaching, including live lecture, on-line and distance delivery formats, pedagogical/course development and assessment, and service-related activities. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching contributions and course development and will exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.To enhance our department and create role models for a diverse population of students, we particularly invite application from those who can support and enhance our diversity, including women, Indigenous peoples, other visible minorities, and those committed to a diverse environment.
