Thank you to Celia for sharing information about Spain with room 09 yesterday. We loved hearing about the different cities birthday celebrations and the ‘giants’ who would wake for the party. The children were especially interested in the human tower people took part in and how it was a young child just a little older than them who would be at the very top! Lots of questions were asked about this feat. We even got to see a science experiment using saffron, the spice more expensive than gold,and how it is used to make a famous dish called paella. Gracias!

A huge thank you to all the families who supported our wine raffle fundraiser. We are one step closer to our playground dreams!

Yesterday at Montessori we had a visitor come in and share a fun activity with us. Halle’s Mom, Bryanne brought in a whole stack of puzzles from her company Hobbry Children worked in pairs or small groups, putting together a puzzle of their choice (maybe even getting to do two before time was up). They worked as a team, working on skills like patience, sharing and communication as they followed the picture and completed the puzzle. Bryanne helped with suggestions on how to build (edges first, it creates a frame), finding that elusive piece, and even sharing information about the artists who created the pictures for the puzzles. Some pictures were even created by an artist in Manitoba! A friend in one class even showed how you can pick the whole puzzle up without it breaking! After we were finished building Bryanne said we could keep the puzzles she brought in. Now we can continue puzzling whenever we want! Thanks for a fun day Bryanne!

Today we had a visitor from Prairie Exotics who came to share her knowledge about reptiles (and a few other critters). The children had a great time learning more information about these reptiles and also getting to touch them. The children had great questions, and were able to answer some questions that Kenzi asked as well.
