To our students,
As you know, EESE will close permanently on March 31, 2026, with classes ending March 21. This is a difficult moment for all of us, and we want to speak to you honestly and with respect.
You came to EESE with skills, education, work experience, and life knowledge. Our role was not to create that, but to support you as you strengthened your English and cultural understanding for Canadian workplaces and communities.
What we were able to offer you was made possible through the support of provincial and federal governments, as well as the Winnipeg Foundation. We are grateful for that support and for the opportunity it gave us to work alongside you.
We are also deeply grateful for our teachers and administrative staff, who are passionate about this work and who have shown professionalism, care, and commitment every day. They believe strongly in adult learners and in the value you bring to this community.
The determination you brought with you is still yours. The persistence that has carried you through work, study, and resettlement did not come from this school — it came from you. Those strengths will continue to serve you well.
We encourage you to stay connected with one another. The relationships you built here matter. Share information, support each other, and keep practicing English together. Community does not end when a school closes.
Although this chapter is ending, your path forward continues. We believe in your ability to adapt, contribute, and reach your goals.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. You will always be part of EESE.
With respect,
The EESE Team

ICYMI🛷 Almost all tobogganing spots around the city are open right now — with just one exception — so it’s a great time to get out there before the snow changes again.
