Congratulations to ERVS student Carolina for being awarded the Medal of Excellence from Conservatory Canada for her outstanding achievement on her Grade 6 Classical Voice exam!

Congratulations to Ira who has been awarded the Conservatory Canada medal of excellence for her outstanding performance in her Grade 5 voice exam! Ira is also the recipient of the Norman and Alice Pyman Memorial Scholarship.

It's been a wonderful week at the Winnipeg Music Festival. All ERVS students who participated were splendid each one receiving Golds for their performances. I am proud of every one of them for all the hard work they put in to explore their voices and artistry.

However, outstanding performances had to be picked to be awarded trophies. Two ERVS students were the fortunate ones. Carolina was awarded the Harld L. Scarth Trophy for her outstanding work in German Lied and Italian Art Song and Ira was awarded the Ladies' Orange Benevolent Trophy for her heartfelt story-telling of Folk Song. Bravi to all!

Over the holidays we started to foster cats. Now our current foster, Joey, isn't quite sure what to make of the young people coming to sing on this first day back at lessons. But he's a great hit with our ERVS students!

This month we have a great new and fun challenge to get everyone back into the swing of things. It's the Practice Bingo Challenge.

Students will receive their bingo sheets at lessons and you have the month of January to complete as many tasks as you can until you get a Bingo! There will be prizes for each Bingo and a special prize for a fully completed sheet.
