Children have such tiny airways and we want to reduce the risk of choking keeping them safe while eating delicious healthy food options.
Remember children age 2 to 5 are still learning to chew food properly 🥰
Did you know that even tiny items like raisins or sticky fruit snacks can ball up together creating a larger sticky mass?
Always pick safe options when deciding to give your child a snack in the car when they can’t be fully supervised while eating.
Foods to take extra caution and cut lengthwise and in quarters for preschool aged children at daycare and at home include:
Hotdogs/sausages
Grapes
Cherry tomatoes
Larger Blueberries
Popcorn
Dried fruits
Meatballs
Hard candies
Gum balls
Baby carrots
Larger chunks of fruit and veggies should be cut small to make them safer for little ones.
