In October of 1991, the Zoloto Ukrainian Dance Ensemble had its humble beginnings in the heart of Winnipeg's North End. This group of incredibly talented dancers was established to celebrate Ukraine's Independence, and has spent the past 31 years dedicating itself to the promotion of Ukrainian cultural heritage and traditions in the form of Ukrainian folk dance, costumes, and music. Under the Artistic Direction of its founder, Keris Matskiw, Zoloto established its own dance school and became known as the Zoloto Ukrainian Dance Ensemble & Company in 1994. Over the years Zoloto has grown to become one of Canada's most vibrant and entertaining Ukrainian folk dance companies, and has captivated audiences on 3 different continents with their powerful and awe-inspiring style of dance. Zoloto is an independent, self-governed, and registered not-for-profit organization that uses the talents, both artistic and administrative, of its members to achieve its goals.

With our Folklorama Pavilion behind us for this year we are now focused on the upcoming start of the new dance year.

Classes for ages 4 to 17 start mid-September as well as sessions for our Performing Ensemble.

We always provide a refundable trial period where you can ensure Zoloto is the right fit for you. Also free classes for Ukrainian newcomers.

It starts with one class. And then it becomes so much more.

Classes begin mid-September at Zoloto Studios!

Ages 4–99 welcome, of all skill levels and experience! Never danced before? No worries!

Learn the beauty of Ukrainian dance through a variety of regional styles, with classes that include a strong ballet foundation, contemporary movement, flexibility, and technique.

Our dedicated teaching team is committed to helping every dancer excel, from style and technique to confidence and performance.

And if you’re looking for more than just weekly classes, you’ll have the opportunity to become part of the Spirit of Ukraine Pavilion at Folklorama and join us as we begin creating next year’s story: Spadok.

A HUGE congratulations to our dancers who took the stage tonight and made Night 1 so special!

A special shoutout to Henri, Charlotte, Stephanie T, Anya, Amelia & Lexi for completing their first Classic Hopak with Zoloto Ukrainian dancers at the Spirit of Ukraine Pavilion. What an amazing accomplishment!

And congratulations to Anya, Jayda & Stephanie F for completing their very first night of Folklorama at the Spirit of Ukraine Pavilion. We are so proud of you!

You danced with heart, energy, and pride, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what the next 6 nights have in store!
