The University of Manitoba AREMA Student Chapter, or UMASC, is a student group dedicated to the promotion of railway engineering.
UMASC is the first international AREMA Student Chapter and was founded in Fall 2012. If you are interested in railway engineering and being part of a group of motivated and passionate students, UMASC is the place for you! We host Guest Speaker Luncheons, participate in Technical Tours led by industry professionals, and promote common interests among student members.

Teamsters Statement on Hudson Bay Railway "Our members are proud, contributing members of the communities in The Pas and Gilliam and they have been decimated by the failure of OmniTRAX (HBR's parent company) to rebuild the railway as directed by the Federal Government.

A great turnout at the kick off event today. We learned a lot about the chapter from Dr. Regehr and Mark and also about the tremendous experience that can be gained through summer employment on the railroads thanks to Daniel and Danielle.
Good luck to Daniel, Mark and Dr. Regehr as they head off to the AREMA conference in Indianapolis!
