Celebrating the Impact of Tannis Richardson in Winnipeg and at Balmoral Hall School
Balmoral Hall School, would like to recognize and celebrate the life of an extraordinary Winnipeg woman, Tannis Richardson. Her time as a student was limited to a year at Rupert’s Land School for Kindergarten, where she was awarded one of only two prizes in her class “For Good Progress”. This modest yet meaningful line, preserved in the 1932 yearbook, set in motion a lifelong dedication of limitless leadership that has strengthened our city from the inside out. Through integrity and a deep belief in community, Tannis helped shape Winnipeg into a more connected, inclusive and forward‑thinking place to thrive.
Whether bringing people together around shared goals or championing initiatives that created lasting value, Tannis approached every effort with purpose and care. Her impact is felt not only in outcomes, but in the relationships built along the way bridging voices, supporting collaboration and inspiring others to contribute meaningfully to their community.
Tannis Richardson’s influence reflects what is possible when commitment meets vision - positive change, sustained momentum and a legacy rooted in service. As an alum, parent, speaker, host and patron, our Balmoral Hall community is stronger for her involvement and her example continues to inspire those who believe in building a better Winnipeg together.
We celebrate Tannis’s life with deep gratitude and honour her family with respect and care. May her example continue to motivate us all to lead with integrity, purpose and the spirit of “good progress.”
