🦬 Did you know that bison ranching helps preserve some of the last remaining native grassland habitats on the prairies?
Bison once roamed freely across Manitoba and played an important role in the lives of Indigenous Peoples. Today, bison continue to be an important part of Manitoba agriculture and environmental stewardship.
Our Foundations of Manitoba Agriculture: Bison resource helps students explore the connections between agriculture, history, food systems, and the environment. Available as levelled reading sheets or an interactive webpage to suit your classroom needs.
Perfect for classrooms looking to learn more about the animals raised in Manitoba and where our food comes from.

🌱 Thank you, Topigs Norsvin Canada, for the generous support for our Amazing Agriculture Adventure program!
Topig Norsvin’s sponsorship support and offer to send staff as volunteers – will help connect over 900 students with livestock, crops, and real agri-food careers at the Bruce D. Campbell Farm & Food Discovery Centre this September.
One Grade 9 student arrived knowing little about careers in agriculture. They left wanting to be a veterinarian.
We need your help! More than 40 classrooms were waitlisted in 2025, and AAA 2026 is already full! More industry partners are needed to help cover transportation, subsidize registration, and ensure no classroom is turned away.
📩 Interested in supporting the next generation of ag leaders? Contact Christine Kulas at [email protected] to explore AAA 2026 sponsorship and volunteer opportunities.

🌻 What an incredible day at St. Charles Catholic School in Winnipeg!
Students had the opportunity to participate in Seed Survivor and learn more about agriculture, what a healthy plant needs to grow, and where their food comes from. To top it all off everyone planted sunflowers seeds to take home and grow.🌻
A special thank you to Jesse Hamonic from Nutrien Ag Solutions for joining us as a special guest and sharing his knowledge and experiences with students. His insights helped bring agriculture to life and inspired meaningful conversations!
We can’t wait to see those sunflowers grow! 🌻

Friday was spent at the Tim Hortons Camp in Pinawa, where Bianca, Nikky, and Abbey volunteered at the Envirothon event! 🌿
They had the opportunity to see firsthand the incredible knowledge and talent of the students participating in the Envirothon field test. Later in the day, they hosted a career fair booth where students tested their skills with our “Match the Commodity” game and learned more about careers in agriculture.
A day well spent - thank you to Manitoba Watersheds for organizing such a fantastic event!
