National Child Day is celebrated in Canada on November 20 each year to honour and acknowledge the fundamental rights of children, as outlined in the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This day raises awareness about protecting children's rights and promoting their well-being, education, and development.
Various activities and events occur nationwide, including school educational programs, community gatherings, and initiatives that advocate for children's needs and voices. By celebrating National Child Day, Canadians reaffirm their commitment to ensuring that every child can thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

Tánsi, Wajeeye, Aaniin, Wotziye, Háu, Hello,
November 11, 2025, honours all Canadian military members and ensures that Canada never forgets the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces, the RCMP, Peace Officers, the Merchant Navy, and the Reserves. We also remember our military families— the mothers, fathers,
sons and daughters of Canadian Veterans.
The Wapaskwa Virtual Collegiate is closed today in respect of those who served. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Tánsi, Wajeeye, Aaniin, Wotziye, Háu, Hello,
November 8, 2025, honours the contributions and sacrifices of Indigenous veterans who served in World Wars I, II, and the Korean War.
Many First Nations individuals enlisted despite facing poverty, limited healthcare, and systemic discrimination on reserves. Remembering our ancestors who served as veterans highlights their vital role in shaping Canada's history and the ongoing struggles of First Nation communities.
The Wapaskwa Virtual Collegiate is closed today in respect for our ancestors who served for our future. Classes will resume on Monday, November 10, 2025.
