Kumdo is the Korean martial art of swordsmanship. Black Tigers Taekwondo uses bamboo slatted swords with strings.

This was the first time many of our Tigers tried Kumdo and they did GRRRREAT! 🐯🥋

A friendly game of Tiger Tail between two of our little Tigers is always a joy to watch 🥹

What do kids learn by playing Tiger Tail?

Tiger Tails helps kids develop physical agility, spatial awareness, and strategic thinking as they try to sn**ch each other's fabric tails while protecting their own.

Physical skills include:

✔️Agility and Balance: Quick dodging and running help build fundamental movement skills.
✔️Speed and Reactions: Kids learn explosive acceleration and fast reflex responses to incoming threats.
✔️Coordination: Twisting, turning, and changing directions rapidly improve body control.

Cognitive and Tactical skills include:

✔️Spatial Awareness: Players must monitor boundaries and track multiple peers in a busy area.
Defensive Strategy: Children figure out how to shield their lower back or transition smoothly from running away to chasing.
Decision Making: Navigating safe zones or assessing when to pounce builds basic situational reading skills.
