The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athletes of the Week are Maksim Fehr of the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks and Vladimir “Vova” Anikeyenko of the Daniel McIntyre Maroons.

Maksim brought it to the baseball diamond. Vova made his mark on the soccer pitch. Two athletes. Two sports. One well-earned spotlight.

Baseball has come to an incredible end, and the Nighthawks are provincial champs!

Congratulations to the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks on capturing the Baseball Provincial Championship this past weekend.

A huge finish to the season and a huge moment for the athletes, coaches, school, and community.

Two provincial championships, one huge weekend for Manitoba high school soccer.

The Provincial AAAA Girls Soccer Championship and Provincial AAAA Boys Soccer Championship are both heading to Steinbach Regional Secondary School on June 5–6.

If you love high school soccer, this is your sign to be there. ⚽️

Congratulations to Matt Medwick from Maples Collegiate, the May Payworks Coach of the Month!⁠

Matt has been coaching badminton with the MHSAA for almost 20 years. His JV mixed doubles team won gold at MHSAA Badminton Provincials. This is the first gold medal for Maples badminton since the 1990s.

Matt also does a lot of work behind the scenes for athletics here at Maples. He was the convener of MHSAA Curling Provincials this year and has convened KPAC sports such as basketball and golf. Matt has also served as our KPAC zone president and has coached football, flag football, and golf throughout the years.

Matt has also organized alumni fundraising events, which have helped provide scholarship funds to help our graduating athletes.

Congratulations, coach and thank you for everything!
