May is always a busy month!

1- First dandelion bouquet of the year!

2-4 Heritage Fair Presentations. Students answered the inquiry question: "How do I feel connected to Canada Today?"

5-6 School Planning Day: Leading the Literacy Committee Report and my order number for lunch 🤷🏻‍♀️

7 Manitoba Teacher's Society's AGM! It's good to be informed ✔️

April flew by that I didn't even post about it!

Here are some captured moments:

1- Lead a section of our school PD regarding the ELA Curriculum!

2- It snowed! Of course!

3- Brain Storms of what makes up Canada Today!

4- Online Safety Presentation from a local police officer.

5-6 The Aviation Museum had its Teacher Appreciation Night! What a great opportunity to learn about what they have to offer!

7-9 Then we took our kids on a field trip!

10-11 MYRCA Club had their year-end celebration! What a blast hearing from some of the authors!

March was a crazy busy one!

1-2 Artist in the School wrapped up with our students spent the month learning from them and completed an art installation for the school!

4-6 Students working hard counting and packing popcorn orders from our school's annual Popcorn Fundraiser🍿

7-9 School Spirit Week: Crazy Hair Day & Matching Day!✏️

10-11 Writing Celebration! Students published a persuasive writing piece. My students wrote letters about changes they wanted made in school!

February felt so long ago! Here are some school highlights:

1-3: Black History Month Research. Students researched a prominent Canadian Black Figure and presented it to each other. The students had to take notes on each other's presentation.

4: Valentine's Day came and went! Students were sugared up!

5-6 CAA had dedicated an ice sculpture to School Patrols for their 90th Year Anniversary. Our School Patrol Captains had a chance to visit the ice sculpture.

7-9 Louis Riel Day is in February! To commemorate Louis Riel all students created their own Metis vest in honour of what Riel did for his Metis people. Students represented their culture, family and interests.

10: I Love to Read Month! We had many guest readers throughout the month. One of the guest readers was a police officer!

11: We had ( )Pink Panda, a real artist, come to our school to work through different art activities with our students.

12: A day where our students got a chance to see the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra!

13: A day is teacher learning! Our school spent the day learning about Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Living. It was a very fruitful day.

14-15 Did I forget to mention, our school had their own Olympic challenges! Oh boy, what a busy month.

You have to hug yourself. Shivering, it was cold.
The breeze was cold, as it flies towards my presence.
I was only wearing a jacket. No mittens. No toque.
Ring! We walked inside, still freezing. We'll warm up soon."

❄️ December ❄️

1-2 Our school was invited for a Holiday Breakfast and Holiday activities at Kelvin High School!

3-6 My students began our Calls to Action Inquiry Project, and students presented and voted on a local charity to support. Student Voice is supporting The Link

7-9 Winter Concert! Our students worked hard to help run the concert: from lights and music, to handing out programs.

10-11 Students help with organizing and delivering Meals2Go across the school.

12-15 Our students explored Metis Beading Art and took inspiration from Christie Belcourt's Artwork.

16 First Snow Day ever! With 3 feet of snow in front of my garage, I did not make it on the road.

17 Half of my students came to school and we enjoyed some snacks for the last day of school.

November Memories!

My students lead the Remembrance Day Ceremony. They shared their charcoal/water colour art inspired by "In Flanders Fields" by John McRae. My students also presented their research about Remembrance Day!

We also had a rare opportunity to attend the Super Bowl Festival! What a fun time it was.

Although, I started the month with the flu, we powered through it, wrote report cards, lead the Writing Celebration, and ended the month with a treat from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet! What month!

🎉 Heading into my 5th year of teaching! 🎉

I've definitely neglected this page due to a million different things, but I am so excited for another amazing school year.

I'm leading a few committees this year so it will be another crazy year for me! Wish me luck 😁♥️
