Congrats to Ramona - one of our former INDG graduate students - on this incredible appointment!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ramona Neckoway to First Nations University of Canada as our new Vice-President, Academic.

A First Nation scholar from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation in northern Manitoba, Dr. Neckoway brings a strong record of academic leadership, teaching, research, and advocacy for Indigenous education. Her work has played a key role in advancing Indigenous language programming, language revitalization, and culturally grounded academic initiatives across post-secondary institutions.

We look forward to her leadership as FNUniv continues to advance Indigenous scholarship, student success, and its role as Canada’s national Indigenous university.

Reclaiming Métis Ethics: Beyond OCAP and Towards Métis Sovereignty

This in-person event aims to facilitate a comprehensive exchange of ideas focused on Metis ethics. It invites participants to share their personal narratives and insights while collaboratively examining historical and contemporary issues. By convening around the Metis kitchen table, attendees can engage deeply with one another, integrating personal experiences with theoretical discussions to envision a future that respects and upholds Metis traditions and values.
