After a summer of working on dental CT scans, Zach and Josh tested out our new Creality 3D printer.

This summer in the lab, research assistant Zach Hoorman worked on rendering CT scans of Neanderthal teeth for 3D printing under the supervision of Josh Lindal and Dr. Mirjana Roksandic. Josh also co-hosts the Screens of the Stone Age Podcast along with Dr. Kimberly Plomp, and Dr. Ross Barnett where they review movies about prehistoric people. This July members of the MIRA team attended the Eastern African Association of Palaeoanthropologists and Palaeomtologists (EAAPP) conference in Addis Ababa learning about all facets of current research and discussing the current ethical issues and neo-colonial aspects still present is the field.
