🧡 Truth and Reconciliation at Mighty Minds Montessori 🧡
Today at Mighty Minds Montessori & Childcare, we took time to learn, reflect, and honour the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.
Through age-appropriate activities and conversations, our children had opportunities to:
🧡 Learn about the meaning behind Orange Shirt Day and the message Every Child Matters
🧡 Create an “Every Child Matters” banner together using their handprints
🧡 Read Phyllis’s Orange Shirt and learn about the story behind Orange Shirt Day
🧡 Talk about kindness, belonging, respect, and why every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved
🧡 Participate in hands-on art activities that encouraged children to express themselves and learn together
We believe that learning about the past, listening to Indigenous voices, and nurturing empathy and respect in young children are important steps toward building a more compassionate future.
Every Child Matters. 🧡
