At the PAL Winnipeg Inc's Annual General Meeting on September 17, 2025 it was decided to wind down the charity.
Over the coming weeks the necessary steps will be taken to do so and the decision was made to donate the funds on hand to AFC (formally known as Actors Fund of Canada) to be of benefit to those artists in need.
We thank all past members, board members and donors who have supported PAL Winnipeg over the years.

An Important Update:
Friends of Performing Arts Lodge Winnipeg:
For more than 15 years since its foundation, PAL Winnipeg has been searching for options to provide Members of the performing arts community with affordable housing or day-to-day assistance through its informal Supporting Cast program (help with shopping, transportation to medical appointments and just checking in with those in need).
In recent years, PAL Winnipegโs Board of Directors had been actively exploring a number of potential projects in cooperation with local development partners. Unfortunately, none of these projects ended up being financially viable or attracted sufficient interest from the PAL community. We have surveyed the needs of the PAL community on a number of occasions and have come to the conclusion that there is no immediate need for PAL Winnipeg to build a facility to house Members of the performing arts community either on its own or in collaboration with a development partner.
At its AGM for the year ending Dec 31, 2022, held on Wednesday, Feb 22, 2023, PAL Winnipeg voted to narrow its focus for the next 2 years to the following:
1. facilitate contact between Members of the performing arts community who are in need of supportive housing and those organizations and agencies in the community who may be offering something suitable;
2. use its financial resources to help Members of the performing arts community who find themselves in a housing crisis in any way that it can; and
3. continue to offer its informal Supporting Cast program to members in the community who need assistance with the tasks of day-to-day living.
For 2023 and 2024, PAL Winnipeg will be managed by a caretaker Board of 4 members. At the end of 2024, PAL Winnipeg will consult with Members of the performing arts community and determine its future direction.
