Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah are fast approaching, and that means many Kiddushes — and lots of wine!

Rabbi Avraham Gislason of Tzafona Cellars, a native Winnipegger, will be in Winnipeg tomorrow and will give a presentation with a wine tasting from 8:00 PM to 8:30PM. He will also share the latest updates on kosher Canadian wine in Manitoba and present two new kinds of wine, one of them special for Kiddush.

Last Sunday night, JLI hosted a fascinating lecture — "A Neshama Born in Winnipeg – Lighting Up the World" — with Rabbi Nathan Blumes, Director of Development at Oholei Torah in NYC.

The talk was engaging, thought-provoking, and sparked meaningful discussion about our own journeys and about finding purpose in lighting up wherever we find ourselves.

With hearts full and eyes still wet, we want to say thank you.

Thank you to over 400 people who came to the Shloshim event l'ilui nishmat Rabbi Shmuly, ע"ה.

Anyone who was in the room could feel the love, the appreciation, and the longing for Rabbi Shmuly ❤️

Each person there felt like close family, like a best friend.

All the souls that Rabbi Shmuly and Adina have touched and changed forever got to experience a little more of their light.

Adina — and each of your incredible children, Mussie, JJ, Sruly, Goldie, and Yossi — you moved us so deeply with your empowering words. Through the tears that were shed on this special evening, we all walked out uplifted and strengthened — in Rabbi Shmuly's own special, love-filled way; to keep seeing what's special and unique in each one around us, to keep adding light — so much light — to the world.
