Our 2025/26 Impact Report is here and what a year it’s been!

This year was filled with growth, opportunity, and momentum as over 1,000 students engaged with the Stu Clark Centre from across .

1️⃣ 800+ students competed in the CPHR Pitch Competition
2️⃣ 150+ applications for the Stu Clark New Venture Championships where 22 universities were represented
3️⃣ 250+ Startup Coach meetings with students across
4️⃣ 52 Side Hustle businesses launched since the start of the course in September 2024
5️⃣ 85+ webinar hosted over 6 years with 9,800 registrants

This is the only the beginning of what’s to come from entrepreneurs at the University of Manitoba!

Over 50+ high school students from across Manitoba gathered yesterday at SmartPark Innovation Drive for a full hands-on day of learning around entrepreneurship!

From building their business ideas to pitching them to two industry experts including Whitney Morgan of and Teena Lee of , it was a buzzing day ⚡️

The next generation of entrepreneurship is strong and we can’t wait to see what they tackle!

Entrepreneurship doesn’t happen alone at .

It takes a community, including our entrepreneurial ecosystem, to raise entrepreneurs like Daniel Gagnon, an MBA student who turned his curiosity into a battery technology venture alongside Dr. Christian Kuss.

“What gives me passion is building the business - the learning, the challenges, and the process.”

After learning about the CPPA Binder in his MBA class from the Partnerships, Knowledge Mobilization, & Innovation office (PKMK), Daniel jumped at the opportunity, dove into completing his research, and helped take the next steps to support Dr. Christian Kuss with this innovative battery idea.

In this full day of hands-on learning with Startup Coach, Ben Isakov, students will pitch their creative ideas to three industry experts as they start their entrepreneurial journeys.

The 2026 Stu Clark New Venture Championships have come to a close for another year, where 32 teams competed for over $72,000 in cash prizes!
 
The energy in the room throughout the weekend was unmatched as 22 universities from across North America gathered for one of Canada’s largest business plan competitions.
 
From detecting Parkinson’s 10 years earlier to smart horse blankets tracking vital signs in real time, NVC 2026 showcased what bold and powerful innovation looks like.
