It's not just an orientation at Access. It's about building community.

Earlier this month, the Access Program welcomed new students to the UM community. Through holistic supports, meaningful connections and a sense of belonging, Access has been helping students overcome barriers to post-secondary education for more than 50 years.

“On the final day of orientation, we see groups forming. Students connect with those they will soon be studying with. Their communities are taking shape. That’s what we want, to create community,” says Shawna Bowler, Student Support Case Manager for the Access Program.
