Our final day together included celebrating student achievement at Awards Day, gathering as a community for our Closing Chapel, and continuing a Westgate tradition as our graduates and those moving on from Westgate signed the remembrance rock.

What an incredible night of music at our Senior Spring Concert. The performances left us in awe, showcasing an impressive mix of talent, dedication, and musical growth. There were performances from concert band, multiple choirs, senior orchestra, jazz band, and vocal jazz, with a beautiful collaboration between all the groups for the Wave of Light piece. What a beautiful thing it is to share music together. Congratulations to all the performers!

What a beautiful evening at our Junior Spring Concert! This concert featured students from grades 6-9 with performances from the grade 6 strings, junior orchestra, concert bands, choirs, and the junior jazz band. The musicians have been working hard and it certainly showed. Way to go!

Last day to donate to Community Service Day!

Head to the Westgate website to give. 10% of funds from Community Service Day goes to CancerCare Manitoba. What a great opportunity to support two places!

As part of Community Service Day, we partnered with a number of community organizations, with students volunteering all across the city. This year, we wanted to highlight CancerCare Manitoba, a not-for-profit organization doing important work in our community.

Our music department joined in that effort through their performance of “Wave of Light,” a piece written by Peter Meechan and commissioned by the Manitoba Band Association, created as a message of hope for cancer care patients and their families.

Ten percent of this year’s Community Service Day Fundraiser will go directly to CancerCare Manitoba. There is still time to give and be a part of the Wave of Light!
