To families with students in the Windsor Park Collegiate Family of Schools;
Over the past month, the Louis Riel School Division’s (LRSD) Senior Leadership Team (SLT) has started focused conversations with communities in the Windsor Park Collegiate (WPC), Collège Béliveau and J.H. Bruns Families of Schools (FOS) about proposed solutions to address enrolment pressures and demographic dynamics. You can find more information on this journey here.
As a next step in the process, we are inviting the WPC FOS to a conversation on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. This will be a hybrid meeting, both in-person at WPC (1015 Cottonwood Road) and virtual. Click here to register.
This conversation will have a distinct focus on the WPC FOS and include a discussion about long-term solutions that are achievable, sustainable, and affordable for the Southeast quadrant of our division.
The WPC FOS includes:
• Windsor Park Collegiate
• Frontenac School
• General Vanier School
• Archwood School
• École Sage Creek School (English)
We look forward to continuing this conversation.
Sincerely,
Christian Michalik Superintendent

Dear Frontenac Families,
We apologize for the short notice on this. The following was written by Shannon Peever, General Vanier PAC. We have used her letter rather than re-writing the same information.
This is the first of two emails I will be forwarding. The following information and invitation is from the PAC representatives at Windsor Park Collegiate. It is my understanding that school communities who LRSD deemed would be affected by immediate proposed changes to feeder schools (7-12) were invited to a Town Hall meeting a few weeks ago. As you will read below, the "presentation...[highlighted] a potential solution being to move the Windsor Park Collegiate staff and students to the Collège Béliveau building and vice versa, no sooner than 2024-2025 school year; and changing the catchment area for JH Bruns to include Sage Creek".
It seems that General Vanier and Frontenac families have yet to be included in these conversations despite the proposed next steps involving a high school that is situated right in our own community. You can view the Town Hall meeting here if you wish: Future Planning Scenarios Town Hall: March 23, 2022 - YouTube
If you scroll down, you will see the email I received from the WPC PAC and if you scroll further you will see the invitation they have sent to the parent community with more information provided. They are asking that you RSVP if you plan to attend and will have the option of attending in person or virtually.
I would urge you to attend if you can because 1). decisions made about where our children will attend school in Grade 9-12 can have significant impacts on important aspects of their school experience including, but not limited to, inclusion and accessibility, class sizes, extracurricular offerings (sports) and school based programming (electives, etc.) and 2). As a parent in this community you have the right to equitable and timely access to information that will impact your child's future school experience and the opportunity for your voice to be heard on these matters.
Thank you,
Frontenac PAC

Attention Parents!
Let's see democracy in action. If you're interested in having a say in what happens to our student population at Windsor Park Collegiate and how that affects our Royal Families please join us for our meeting with Trustees next Tuesday, April 12th at 7:00PM
We're hosting a hybrid meeting (for the first time, so please be patient with us if technology doesn't cooperate) where you can attend in-person in the library at WPC or virtually via Zoom. Please RSVP here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdgIpobY5ki8MB0lhSMymkzpIqvK_eoo2Am4L5EmS8gJXuEUQ/viewform to reserve a spot in-person, or to have the meeting link sent to you.
Did you hear about or attend the Town Hall held by the LRSD just before Spring Break?
The information shared at the Town Hall affects all WPC families and students.
From the invitation we received to the Town Hall, we were expecting to hear about the plan for the grades 7 and 8 students from Sage Creek, and expecting that it would be the start of parental consultation. Instead, the presentation quickly moved on to highlight the "next steps" with a potential solution being to move the Windsor Park Collegiate staff and students to the Collège Béliveau building and vice versa, no sooner than 2024-2025 school year; and changing the catchment area for JH Bruns to include Sage Creek.
The current motion before the LRSD Board is that:
Shamrock School serve Grade 5, 6 & 7 English program students residing in Sage Creek in 2022-2023 and that, Shamrock School serve Grade 5, 6 & 7 & 8 English program students residing in Sage Creek in 2023-2024 and until a second elementary school in Sage Creek opens its doors.
We've asked our elected Trustees to join us for a discussion about:
How these decisions are made
What this proposal means to our WPC community
This is the opportunity for parents to give direct feedback to our Trustees for their consideration of the current motion and on the process that has been used to include parents to date.
We hope you'll attend so we can ALL learn more and have the opportunity to share our thoughts and concerns, because "Local Voices" must include Parents Voices.
Parents meeting with Trustees A discussion about the proposal to remove the 7/8 program at Windsor Park Collegiate. This will be a hybrid meeting. We plan to meet in-person in the library at WPC but will send a Zoom link to those that prefer to attend virtually. We encourage you to send your questions and comments beforehand how...
