The Stoneware Studio is the place to learn all sorts of pottery! We teach wheel work and hand-building to beginners and advanced students alike.

As mentioned both in Valerie Metcalfe's post and Make and Do Ceramic's post, the Stoneware Studio (and Gallery) is heading into its 40th year. We have much to be thankful for: great teachers, great students and lots of great pots! Cheers to all who make this clay community one to be proud of!

Calling all Stoneware students! We unloaded a great firing yesterday -- your stuff is ready!

Usually if something is transferred from a pot to the shelf it isn't so darn cute! Here, a student's oxide drawing flashed from the bottom of a plate onto the shelf. I nice little surprise.

We are getting our Summer Session organized now! Drop me a line if you are intereste -- space still available for Tuesday and Thursday evening, and we'll open up more classes if there is enough interest! Let's get muddy this summer!

Hey folks! The second student firing was unloaded last Friday -- lots of lovelies for you to pick up! Also, the Gallery will be hosting its Spring Sale in the studio starting Thursday evening so there won't be classes Thursday or Friday. However, you'll probably want to come and check out the amazing work and score a deal for yourself anyway!

The student firing was unloaded and priced yesterday and we hope you love how the work turned out! If you missed out on this firing, we've got another one already partially loaded and hope to fire it early next week. Happy glazing!

Our latest student firing was loaded so quickly we finished loading and firing it before some students even had a chance to finish glazing. But don't worry, we'll be unloading the kiln on Wednesday and then reloading it with MORE student work right away. Glaze up folks!

Jen Johnson here -- after being away for a few weeks I'm looking forward to seeing my class tonight and showing off these little rustic beauties from Guatemala. Anyone else have any little treasures from abroad?

A Camera Mounted to a Potter's Wheel Puts Ceramics in a Dizzying New Perspective 01/27/2016

There are so many "life lessons" to be found in working with clay. I think there are a few such metaphors hidden in this delightfully mesmerizing video - Enjoy!

A Camera Mounted to a Potter's Wheel Puts Ceramics in a Dizzying New Perspective Watching a ceramist work at a potter's wheel is a mesmerizing and nearly meditative process as the wet clay slowly morphs into shape, spinning so quickly it loses definition almost completely. Eric Landon from Tortus Copenhagen was curious to see what things might look like from the clay& #039
