Rainbow Day Nursery

Thank you to the firefighters who joined us from No. 14 station!

The children were invited onto a fire truck to explore both the front and back areas. The firefighters talked about all the equipment they wear and how it protects them from extreme heat and hazardous environments. They also demonstrated how their head apparatuses ensure clean air while they're working, and how their suits beep to indicate when a firefighter might need help.

A very educational day for both children and staff!

Learning happens everywhere!

Phase 1 children were on a nature scavenger hunt recently when they discovered workers using an aquatic w**d harvester to clear one of the nearby lakes. The children were very curious, and we thank the kind gentleman who took the time to explain what he was doing and what the machine was called!

We love emergent curriculum! When children show an interest in a specific topic, our staff develop programming around that interest to engage children in learning.

Stemming from an interest in obstacle courses and the Mario movie that some have seen at home, these children are building a racetrack and adding gems to it, just like in the movie.

Play is learning! Children naturally explore concepts like gravity and cause & effect when building and playing with racetracks. They’re also building communication skills and developing confidence as they solve problems together.

Congratulations to all of our pre-kinders, who celebrated their graduations throughout the week of June 8! 🎉

Thank you to the families who came to join in each of the celebrations and to our incredible Rainbow staff for organizing these events and making the children feel so special!

Each graduate had photos in their cap & gown, performed songs and dances for their families, and were presented with a diploma marking the end of their pre-kinder program. Children talked about what they want to be when they grow up, and we can’t wait to see where those dreams take them! 🎓

This Week of the Early Childhood Educator was full of activities, gratitude, and treats (so many treats!).

Thank you to everyone who shared kind words, delivered treats or gifts, and took part in all of the fun activities planned at each of the centres all week long.

And of course, the biggest thank you is for our incredible staff, who deserve every bit of recognition they've received, and then some! We couldn't appreciate you more for your dedication to the families in Rainbow's care. Thank you. 💕
