Canadian Parents for French - Manitoba We are part of a National network dedicated to the promotion and creation of French second language CPF-MB has members in school divisions throughout Manitoba.

Canadian Parents for French – Manitoba (CPF-MB) provides French-second-language (FSL) learning information for parents, teachers and students seeking FSL related research data about programs in Manitoba and other areas of the country. It also provides and supports a variety of French language extracurricular activities for Manitoban youth. CPF-Manitoba (CPF-MB) maintains a rich and varied assortment of information at www.mb-cpf.ca, and publishes a wealth of information in its newsletters, the CPF Manitoba NEWS. CPF-MB acts as an advocate for FSL programs, such as French Immersion and Basic French, by providing information and practical support to parents who wish to establish new FSL programs in their communities, or make presentations to local school boards to influence changes in, or expansion of, existing programs. It also has active volunteers who contribute many hours to support FSL programs by fund-raising, assisting with reading programs, organizing summer camps, visits and exchanges, and holding community events such as family fun nights for FSL students and parents.

Manitoba votes on October 28 and local leaders help shape the future of French education in our communities.

That’s why we asked candidates for mayor, council, and school trustee to sign the CPF Pledge: a commitment to support and grow French-second-language learning across the province. So far, over 50 have signed!

Our initiative is featured on Radio-Canada this week - check out the article to learn more.

What a great day! Last Saturday, we held our Annual General Meeting at the Norwood Hotel.

Thank you to our board and to the chapter representatives who joined us, some travelling in from Morden, Beausejour, Swan River, Thompson and others connecting virtually. We appreciate the time and energy you give to this work.

After the morning meeting, we spent the afternoon in workshops, planning the year ahead and sharing ideas to strengthen our advocacy and make a bigger impact across the province.

Here’s to a great year ahead for French-second-language education in Manitoba!

Quelle belle journée! Samedi dernier, nous tenions notre Assemblée générale annuelle au Norwood Hotel.

Merci à notre conseil d’administration et aux représentants de nos chapitres qui se sont joints à nous, certains venus de Morden, Beausejour, Thompson, Swan River, et d’autres en virtuel. Nous apprécions le temps et l’énergie que vous mettez dans ce travail.

Après la réunion du matin, nous avons passé l’après-midi en ateliers, à planifier l’année à venir et à partager des idées pour renforcer nos efforts de sensibilisations et accroître notre impact partout dans la province.

Last month, we were in Morden for Week 6 of Camp Soleil, and what a great week it was!

Interest was high, the activities were super fun, and the weather cooperated all week long. Our campers spent their days playing, creating, and exploring EN FRANÇAIS and the energy never dipped.

Thank you Morden for such a wonderful week. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Le mois dernier, on était à Morden pour la sixième semaine de Camp Soleil, et quelle belle semaine!

Les activités étaient super fun et la météo a coopéré toute la semaine. Nos campeurs ont passé leurs journées à jouer, à créer et à explorer EN FRANÇAIS sans jamais perdre leur énergie.

Week 4 of Camp Soleil wrapped up a few weeks ago, this time at the CCFM!

Our campers kept busy all week with crafts, games, and lots of time outside. The big highlight? They headed to Envol 91 FM for a short radio interview, on air and all en français!

One more week left in the city, next week at Harrow United Church. It’s not too late to sign up!

La quatrième semaine de Camp Soleil est terminée, cette fois au CCFM!

Nos campeurs ont eu une grosse semaine remplie de bricolages, de jeux et de temps dehors. Le meilleur moment? Ils sont passés à Envol 91 FM pour une petite entrevue à la radio en français!

Bring your favourite books, a blanket or some lawn chairs, and come hang out with us at St. Vital Park. No pressure, no strict schedule - just a relaxed morning of reading together as a family.

Around 9:30 a.m., we’ll do a little storytime and a craft. And every registered child goes home with a free book, courtesy of Blueberry Hill Books 📚

Week 3 of Camp Soleil is in the books, and this one took us to Dauphin!

The weather was hot, but that didn’t slow anyone down. Our campers played bingo, watched a movie in the gym, and spent lots of time outside all week. On Friday, we wrapped up with a pizza lunch and an information day alongside community members.

Thank you Dauphin for such a great week. We can’t wait to come back next year!

La troisième semaine de Camp Soleil est terminée, et cette fois on était à Dauphin!

Il faisait chaud, mais ça n’a arrêté personne. Nos campeurs ont joué au bingo, regardé un film au gymnase et passé beaucoup de temps dehors toute la semaine. Vendredi, on a conclu avec un dîner pizza et une journée d’information avec des membres de la communauté.

Merci Dauphin pour cette belle semaine. On a hâte de revenir l’année prochaine!
