Tactical Taekwondo

Test postponed: the promotion test scheduled for tonight is officially cancelled. We will test students in class on Dec 22 and 23.

Reminder we are closed for summer holidays next week.

Day 2 of cadet/junior nationals done. I am a very very proud coach.
Juniors- Anshika learned listening makes good things happen and that’s amazing to see
Xander had an amazing couple of matches that show cased athleticism off the chart.
Kavelle worked hard to control the ring well.

Cadets- Estelle overcame a rough start to learn the value of eating on tournament days.
Aly went from not thinking she would make it here to really close fights with national level athletes meaning she’s made it.
Ari came back strong after a 0-0 loss in her second to make all of us very proud.
Paige showed her hard work has paid off in spades and her listening is so impressive.
Chad literally flew around the ring.

Amazing day guys! Gold for Estelle, Paige and Chad. Silver for Kavelle and Anshika. Bronze for Xander.

But the medals are not what I am proud of- I am proud of the dedication and commitment to their goals and the process. I couldn’t ask for anything more as your coach. Thank you.

Day 1 of the 2024 cadet/junior nationals in the books!
5 athletes today. Tatiana and Evelin both had some moments of brilliance and aggression. Very proud of their growth! Jillian finally fought an athlete her size and listened extremely well!

Adi and Abi both are making improvements every event with how they did losing to high level fighters.

Jillian also made Team Canada today- very happy for her to have this title to build on and Evelin gets to bring home a bronze medal as well for the wall.

Congrats all! 8 more teammates to cheer on tomorrow!

Day 2 of 3 completed at the Canada Open/BC Open. Many of our goals were met- some still need more work. Congrats to everyone on their performance. Next step- preparation for nationals!

Coast to Coast winter camp 2024

15 years! How quickly it has gone! Thank you to everyone from day 1 to today for making this club the most amazing gift I could ever have imagined. Cheers to many more years!

Tournament update:
Sparring is done for the day. Huge kiddos to Master Wade Marks and Master Ron Padua for their hard work and excellent coaching today! Very proud of the team. Lots of new skills displayed which was the goal of the trip. Congrats to all!

Huge congratulations to Avi for winning the spelling bee today- he’s now off to nationals!

So this week we leave with a national team coach and two national team athletes for the Pan Am Championships. Four other athletes will also join us in the Dominican Republic for the Dominican Open following the Pan Am event.

Next week a group of our other athletes is off to Minneapolis.

May we will be attending an event in Winnipeg and July we are off to an international training camp.

All of these champions started as white belts who just wanted to try taekwondo. Always remember where you came from.
