We invite the Indigenous community of Winnipeg to join the students and staff of the Aboriginal Community Campus in a heartfelt ceremony to honour our Indigenous Veterans and all who continue to serve for us. This day is dedicated to acknowledging their sacrifices, bravery, and the unwavering strength they've shared.

📣Exciting News from Neeginan Centre!📣

Yesterday, we were thrilled to announce that the Neeginan Centre is receiving a monumental $21.1 million investment through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings (GICB) program for major infrastructure upgrades! 🎉

Announced by Minister Dan Vandal and Board Member Kevin Chief, this funding marks the largest single investment that Neeginan Centre has received since opening its doors in the historic Canadian Pacific Railway Station at Higgins and Main in 1992.

This incredible support will allow us to undertake significant improvements to our beautiful heritage building, ensuring it remains a safe, accessible, and energy-efficient hub for our community. 🏢✨

Key upgrades will include:
🔧 Enhancements to the building’s roof, and windows,
💡 Modernization of lighting, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems,
🌱 Boosting energy efficiency, reducing consumption by nearly 30%, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 225 tonnes annually.

These improvements will not only preserve the historical integrity of our century-old building, but also ensure a welcoming and safe environment for everyone who visits and benefits from our services. Neeginan Centre continues to be a hub for Indigenous Peoples in Winnipeg, where they can find such services as health and wellness programs, employment services, education and training, daycare and an art gallery. 🌟

Marileen Bartlett, Executive Director of Neeginan Centre said, the renovation project should be completed by 2027.
