The Inspire Conference is November 7th, and our Networking Lounge needs industry friends and alums from BIT, CA/P, IST, BTM, DSML, Game Dev, Digital Media, and Film Production to answer questions from our current students. Karen Kabel, Associate Dean of Creative Arts and Applied Computer Education (ACE) at RRC Polytech, has the encryption key to success when it comes to cybersecurity and was recently recognized as one of Canada’s top women in the field by IT World Canada.
Kabel joins twenty leading experts who were recently honoured at the IT World Canada Top Women in Cybersecurity celebration, Surpassing Expectations, alongside representatives from notable organizations like Microsoft, IBM Deloitte, Scotiabank, and the Government of Canada.
Within the walls of RRC Polytech, her influence spans more than just her official role. She has been a driving force in cybersecurity across both Canada and Europe. Her commitment to cybersecurity isn't just professional; she champions the belief that cybersecurity education should commence as early as kindergarten and persist through life.

The students and industry participants worked hard this weekend at Sprint to Innovate: The Innovation Challenge. Congratulations to FIRST PLACE team Saturno for the CIPS Manitoba Selection for Candidates challenge. They won $6000, plus $550 for Semi-finals.
Congratulations to SECOND PLACE team Innovate to Elevate for the City of Winnipeg Snow Clearing Challenge. They won $3000, plus $550 for Semi-finals.
Congratulations to THIRD PLACE team Better safe than sorry for the Campus Safety challenge. They won $2150, plus $550 for Semi-finals.
